The Asa is composed of an ingenious continuous tube structure that also defines the top handle for carrying. It comes in two color versions: entirely white or its original 1961 version, with a black frame and switch. Three visible elements—frame, shade, and switch—combine to form a beautifully proportioned whole. In 1961 this lamp was part of the first collection of TRAMO (“Annoying Jobs”), the company founded by Miguel Milá to self-produce his work in post-war times in Spain, when he was starting rudimentarily with a profession that he would later develop with mastery, that of a pre-industrial designer, as he likes to present himself.
